The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for developing and growing Bender UK’s Industrial sales performance across targeted technical sectors, including energy, renewables, water, manufacturing, marine, and critical infrastructure. The role blends strong technical understanding with consultative sales capability, supporting customers to design and implement safe, resilient electrical systems. Working closely with internal engineering, service, and commercial teams, the Technical Sales Manager ensures solutions are technically robust, commercially sound, and clearly aligned to customer needs.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of technical sales opportunities across assigned industrial sectors and accounts.
  • Build strong, multi‑level relationships with customers including engineers, project teams, procurement and decision‑makers.
  • Lead technical customer conversations to understand risk, compliance, uptime and performance requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into clear solution proposals that demonstrate value, safety and operational benefit.
  • Work closely with internal engineering and applications teams to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Support tender, bid and proposal activity, contributing technical input and solution justification where required.
  • Manage quotations and proposals to ensure strong commercial positioning and margin discipline.
  • Grow existing accounts through additional sites, system upgrades, service, retrofit and monitoring opportunities.
  • Identify and develop new customers across end users, EPCs, OEMs, system integrators and consultants.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting and CRM discipline.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Support, Projects, Service and Marketing teams to deliver joined‑up outcomes.
  • Provide market insight and feedback to support proposition development and continuous improvement.

Experience

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience selling technical or engineered solutions into industrial or infrastructure environments.
  • Strong practical understanding of electrical systems or related technical disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
  • Consultative, solution led sales approach with strong opportunity qualification skills.
  • Strong organisation, planning and CRM discipline.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable

  • Experience in sectors such as energy, renewables, water, marine, manufacturing or critical infrastructure.
  • Exposure to EPC, consultant led or specification based sales environments.
  • Familiarity with safety critical or regulated industries.
  • Technical qualifications or time served engineering background.
