We are now seeking a creative, energetic and highly organised Senior Marketing Executive to help drive entrepreneurship engagement across Wales.


About the Role

As a Senior Marketing Executive, you will play a leading role in promoting entrepreneurship through high‑quality content, impactful campaigns, strong partner engagement and data‑driven reporting. You will work closely with the Marketing Manager, ESU delivery teams, and key stakeholders to deliver inspiring, relevant and effective marketing activity—particularly targeted at young people and aspiring entrepreneurs.

You will support strategic projects, contribute to activity, collaborate with influencers and enterprise partners, and help shape the future of entrepreneurship engagement across Wales.


Key Responsibilities

Marketing delivery & campaign support

  • Deliver marketing campaigns for the Entrepreneurship & Start‑Up service.
  • Maintain brand consistency and manage Big Ideas Wales social media channels.
  • Produce and publish high‑quality content (stories, videos, photography).
  • Plan and maintain content calendars and drive organic reach and engagement.
  • Monitor trends, competitor activity and youth culture to keep content relevant.
  • Create promotional materials and digital assets.
  • Support KPI delivery across reach, engagement and campaign performance.
  • Assist with data reporting and provide actionable insights.

Content creation & social media

  • Create engaging content tailored to young people, early‑stage entrepreneurs and start‑up audiences.
  • Schedule, manage and deliver social media activity to maximise visibility and engagement.
  • Stay up-to-date with digital trends, platforms and emerging youth behaviours in Wales.

Partnerships & stakeholder collaboration

  • Build relationships with partners, influencers, colleges, schools and enterprise communities.
  • Liaise with Welsh Government teams to secure approvals and ensure compliance.
  • Represent the programme at events, meetings and stakeholder sessions.

Events & engagement support

  • Support event delivery, including venue coordination, agency liaison, attendee communication and content capture.
  • Act as a point of contact for event enquiries and logistics.
  • Assist with event materials, merchandise and documentation.
  • Attend events across Wales, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Reporting, insights & data

  • Manage marketing data accurately and maintain insight‑led reports.
  • Carry out audience, trend and competitor research to inform future activity.

Administrative & operational support

  • Raise purchase orders, manage merchandise requests and maintain efficient marketing processes.
  • Support the Marketing Manager in improving efficiency, brand impact and service quality.

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a similar marketing role.
  • Experience delivering social media campaigns.
  • Skilled in content creation (video, photography, interviews).
  • Event coordination/support experience.
  • Understanding of entrepreneurship and business audiences.
  • Knowledge of Welsh youth culture and behaviours.
  • Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work productively under pressure and adapt to change.
  • Creativity and ability to generate new ideas and content formats.
  • Strong digital marketing knowledge (social media, PPC, CMS).
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office/365.
  • Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusive practice.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and represent the programme professionally.
  • Satisfactory DBS check (required before employment).

Desirable

  • Professional marketing qualification (e.g., CIM).
  • Experience with WordPress/CMS, SEO/PPC, or Adobe InDesign.
  • Experience working on public sector or WG‑funded programmes.
  • Welsh language skills (highly desirable).
