Full time Marketing Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised, enthusiastic, and energetic Marketing Assistant to join our busy, award-winning, and friendly team. This is a brilliant first step into marketing, and the publishing industry.

You don’t need publishing or marketing experience – we are looking for a curious and passionate self-starter, full of ideas, keyed into trends and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will be a keen reader across multiple genres and have a thirst for learning – and for ensuring the department’s activity runs smoothly at all times. This is a job for someone aiming for a career path in marketing, rather than a route into editorial or other roles.

Assisting the Marketing Director and team, and reporting into the Senior Marketing Manager, you will work across all our lists.

In this role, you will:

• Assist the Marketing Director and team with day-to-day tasks on campaigns as well as general team processes

• Organise proof design, printing and distribution

• Contribute ideas and creative thinking to marketing meetings

• Liaise with other departments on campaigns and pitches

• Write creative, selling copy across social media and newsletters

• Produce, schedule and monitor social media content and developments across all platforms

• Produce graphics and other marketing materials

• Produce slides for sales conferences, and sell-in material

• Be the key liaison for audio marketing

• Conduct influencer and partnership research, outreach, and mailings

• Assist with events (online and offline)

• Attend meetings and take minutes

• Maintain and develop contact lists with adherence to GDPR

You will bring:

• A love of books

• A keen eye for detail

• Ability to prioritise competing demands and excellent organisation

• Time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

• Knowledge of how to engage communities across social media platforms

• Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

• A knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop will be beneficial

• Familiarity with AI content tools (such as ChatGPT or Claude) is desirable. Curiosity and adaptability matter more than expertise.

The role offers the opportunity to learn campaign planning and execution, social media advertising, video editing, graphics production, and project management.

This full time role is London-based, with at least three days per week attendance at our Farringdon office. Office hours 9.30am-5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Salary £29,000 per annum

Benefits include 25 days’ holiday (rising to 30 days with length of service) plus bank holidays, pension, life insurance and generous annual bonus scheme for all employees.

Profile strives to be an equal opportunities employer, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. As a Disability Confident Committed organisation, we offer interviews to candidates with a disability who notify us at application stage and meet the essential criteria for the role. There may be times when the volume of applications means we cannot take all eligible candidates to interview. We also encourage you to tell us about any reasonable adjustments you may need.
