As our Employee Relations Advisor, you will be a trusted partner to managers, providing practical and commercially balanced advice across employee relations, policy and people matters. What you will be doing
- Providing high-quality employee relations advice and guidance to managers across the business

- Ensuring people policies and processes are applied fairly, consistently and in line with UK employment legislation
- Identifying risks and escalating more complex matters where appropriate
- Building strong and trusted working relationships with managers and stakeholders
- Working collaboratively with the wider People Team to support shared goals and business priorities

About you
You will bring previous experience in an HR advisory or employee relations role and feel confident supporting managers through a variety of people matters. - Good knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations best practice
- Experience advising managers on a variety of employee relations matters

How your role fits within our team
You will be a Senior Regional MSK Physiotherapist, demonstrating what best practice looks like in your everyday work. You will work across a variety of clinics in your assigned geographical area to cover annual leave and absences and help meet patient volume demands across Ascenti’s face-to-face and virtual services, achieving a varied and exciting caseload in the process.
You will work closely with other physiotherapists and mentors in your geographical area, and you will be joining our nationwide community of 300+ Ascenti clinicians who use our modern online tools to stay connected.
You will work independently and free from paper and red tape, but with support on hand every step of the way, cutting-edge technology, and our award-winning clinical development resources at your fingertips.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a clinical caseload of patients presenting with a variety of conditions and goals who are under the care of Ascenti’s static physiotherapists, ensuring that their care remains consistent both in frequency and in management approach.
- Use high quality neuromusculoskeletal assessment skills to develop evidence-informed and highly effective treatment and management plans.
- Use strong communication skills to build rapport and therapeutic with patients in a professional manner and inspire trust and convey complex ideas clearly.
- Manage sensitive subjects and any cultural differences or obstacles with patients diplomatically and professionally.
- Use our digital health tools and rehabilitation app to prescribe patients with online resources and home-exercise and management programmes after your appointment.
- Manage high quality patient notes, future appointments, PROMS (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) and compliance using our advanced patient workflow system.
- Utilise and provide effective patient handovers for the patients that you cover to achieve continuity of care and excellent patient experience and outcomes.
- Maintain high standards of professional conduct and abide by core standards of practice outlined by the HCPC.
- Complete core physiotherapy training modules on time and uphold these standards across all that you do.
- Ensure that you comply with all legal, regulatory, and governance requirement at all times, following the Ascenti Behaviour at work policy.
- Adhere to Ascenti procedures and policies regarding health and safety and clinic standards.
- Work closely with your manager to identify and manage any risks that may affect quality of care or service.

Your purpose
Our Physiotherapy Development Lead will play a leading role in advancing our patient care standards and clinical excellence, taking Ascenti to the next level.
You will empower our Leadership Team to build the clinical capability of their teams, plan and manage clinical skills development and upgrading, leading specialist clinical training across your region; at the same time as being on hand to provide expert clinical advice and direction where needed.
Building strong relationships within your partner region, you will provide top quality advice about clinical standards and the optimal development of each individual clinician. You’ll ensure that we live our values from the inside out, particularly in relation to safeguarding, patient safety and clinical procedures.
How your role fits within our team
The Physiotherapy Development Lead will report to the Area Leadership Team and will have a dotted-line to our Head of Clinical Excellence. You’ll be a senior MSK physiotherapist, so you’ll know what best practice looks like and you’ll role model this in your everyday work.
You’ll be responsible for facilitating the clinical development and empowering high performance of all clinicians within your region. Clinicians will seek you out when they need advice and support in their clinical practice; particularly when a clinical mentor suggests that a more complex or serious case, needs a more experienced hand to resolve.
Key responsibilities
In addition to your normal duties and responsibilities of a physiotherapist, your role has following additional responsibilities:

- Identifying learning and development needs of your team of clinicians and addressing them directly and through your team of mentors; ensuring that all physiotherapists maintain required records of their continuous professional development
- Support area and regional managers with the induction processes
- Assisting, where needed, in clinical processes such as the promotion pathway and assessment and addressing any practice concerns amongst your team
- Supporting Ascenti’s culture of recognition and our commitment to high performing teams, by identifying clinicians who demonstrate excellence in their practice

Dependable – clinical excellence
- Act as the clinical expert and role model for your region; be available and confident to answer complex clinical questions

- Delivering one-to-one and group training, both face-to-face and remotely
- Coaching and developing a team of clinical mentors to deliver effective teaching sessions
- Ensuring the consistent application of our clinical development programme in line with regional and individual learning needs
- Effectively managing patients with complex conditions using a wide range of advanced physiotherapy skills, including injection therapy (where appropriate), manual physiotherapy techniques, self-management advice, virtual physiotherapy and therapeutic handling

- Taking responsibility for the clinical quality and performance metrics of your region by regularly evaluating clinical data; identifying and implementing improvement strategies, where necessary, to deliver excellent outcomes and experience to all patients and clients
- Demonstrate a broad range of advanced and specialised communications skills (with patients, physiotherapists, mentors, managers, peers) including appropriate written communication and the ability to engage in critical dialogue with a range of audiences of different levels of knowledge and expertise
- Manage complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Support the regional managers and area managers with the SASSY policy
- Demonstrating excellence in report writing and records keeping on the Ascenti IT system
