What is the opportunity?

Our software scales to support millions of devices across multiple device platforms. We have a high bar for quality, performance, scale, availability and supportability – our customers are counting on us to keep their business running. We support complex use cases that span across VMware and services/capabilities provided by OS vendors. We integrate with customers enterprise infrastructure to provide a seamless management experience.

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager with a customer-first mindset to grow, retain and coach a talented set of software developers in our automation team. In this role, you will work among engineers to design and automate system tests ensuring product quality, stability and scalability. The team you manage is responsible for ensuring that the product being built is testable including designing and refactoring core platform components to ensure so. Our mission is to provide a resilient and scalable security solution for our customers.

You will be owning engineering initiatives and champion a culture of high ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities:

A high level of comfort with code is required. A large portion of your time will be spent providing architectural and design guidance to your team and providing feedback on code as well as coding standards and guidelines. You can expect to be the owner and take accountability for the quality of your code. You will need to become very familiar with the market we operate in and problems the product addresses. Understand the challenges and limitations of the existing system. You will contribute to refactor and redesign efforts that involve driving order-of-magnitude performance improvement in services while ensuring they are extensible to support innovative new use cases. You are also expected to maintain and develop appropriate technical and professional skills which will you to drive innovation within the platform

  • Build, mentor and manage a team of Engineers focused on product automation and quality
  • Establish test automation, design and development processes to deliver high-quality test software in a fast-paced environment
  • Develop a deep understanding of the platform components and how they interact. Build and execute on a roadmap to ensure we're delivering software with the highest enterprise-level standards.
  • Team player who can work with multiple stakeholders in Dev, QE, Release Management to deliver high quality releases

What will you bring to Omnissa? 

  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing team(s) with System test engineering
  • 3+ years of experience with Container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes
  • Develop effective teams, comprised of early career and experienced employees Cuts through ambiguity by establishing priorities, developing plans, and anticipating risks
  • Is self-motivated and enthusiastic, enjoys solving problems with teammates, and has demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Has personally orchestrated the delivery of multiple significant client/server software products, under demanding timelines, managing multiple work streams cross functionally across a large organization.
  • Ability to create, deploy, and maintain automated system tests to replicate real-world scenarios.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and enjoys both hands-on work and high-level strategic thinking
