This position is currently part of the End-User Computing Division of Broadcom and is planned to transfer to Omnissa in 2024.

Job Title: Member of technical Staff/Sr. Member Technical Staff (P4) - 3-8+ Years

Job Summary: Join our dynamic team at VMware (Omnissa) Horizon to drive the performance engineering of our digital workspace solutions. You'll benchmark Horizon products across on-premises and Cloud product lines, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and propose strategic optimizations. Key Responsibilities: · Benchmark Horizon products and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks. · Understand the entire system, including hardware, software, and infrastructure components. · Automate and measure the performance of diverse system elements, such as servers, operating systems, network devices, and storage systems. · Utilize performance monitoring and measurement tools to identify performance issues, conduct root cause analysis, and propose system-level optimizations. · Drive engineering initiatives and foster a culture of high ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

Qualifications: · Minimum of 3-8 years of experience in performance tuning and benchmarking. · Expertise in Virtualization, Windows/Linux administration, and programming languages such as Java, Python, and PowerShell. · Proficiency in automating performance tests and resolving performance bottlenecks across the entire system stack. · Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and virtualization technologies. · Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. · Familiarity with CI/CD practices and continuous benchmarking.

Performance Goals: · First 2 Months: Understand product architecture, existing performance benchmarking areas, automation frameworks/tools, and release process. · Benchmark performance and triage benchmarking results. · Enhance the automation framework and automate the performance benchmarking process. Work Environment: · Develop and maintain CI/CD Jenkins Pipelines, API, CLI, or UI automation frameworks. · Automate product deployments and benchmarking runs using Python, PowerShell, Groovy, and Java/C++. · Deploy test infrastructure on vSphere, AWS, and Azure platforms. · Identify new areas of improvement for products, tools, and processes. · Participate in automation code reviews to ensure quality, efficiency, and scalability. · Engage in regular communication with cross-functional teams to ensure product delivery and customer satisfaction.

Location: Flexible: This role offers a balanced arrangement, with the expectation of working 3 days a week in our local VMware office and the flexibility to work from home for the remaining days. It is essential that you reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the office location for the in-office workdays. Reporting Structure: This role reports to the Manager/Senior Manager of Engineering. You will be part of a highly competent team of senior and junior engineers focused on innovation and delivering high-quality products.
