Role Overview

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the Operations Manager in their role, which includes the managing of the daily, weekly, monthly operations of all Mainprize Offshore owned, managed, chartered and sub-chartered vessels. This role requires swift and clear communication between all stakeholders including but not limited to; vessel owners, office and marine staff, clients, engineers, etc. Additional duties include:

Responsibilities

  • Stand in for the Operations Manager in their absence, after suitable training
  • Work alongside the Operations Manager on pre-planning, seeking authorisation, sending inspection reports including findings and rectification suggestions, etc.
  • Assist the operations of all owned, managed, chartered and sub-chartered vessels.
  • Assist with any accident, incident, near miss or other requested investigation and report all findings and suggested rectifications to the Operations Manager.
  • Assist with compliance of ISM, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 systems onboard all required vessels, including daily, weekly, monthly and annual checks, inspections, audits, standards monitoring, implementing improvements, training, etc.
  • After training - auditing and inspecting of all owned, managed, chartered and sub-chartered vessels.
  • Early planning of port services and any associated service providers including engineers, shipyards, dockers, agents etc., and overseeing those movements.
  • After training - visiting owned, managed, chartered and sub-chartered vessels for health and safety and quality control.
  • Assisting the management of breakdowns by contacting engineers, electricians etc., after hours, potentially arranging vessel movement to bring in a replacement vessel etc.
  • Attend company meetings.
  • Attend client meetings internal and external when required.
  • Visit new builds assessing progress as required.
  • Liaise with Operations Manager daily.
  • Maintain close contact with managed vessel owners.
  • Ad hoc requirements as assigned by the company.

Qualifications

STCW qualification 11/1 OOW

Understanding and knowledge of the ISM and OS-HSC codes and compliance.

Willingness and desire to travel sometimes internationally for vessel visits, inspections, port calls, docking, maintenance assistance, etc.

Flexibility to be available in case of emergencies.

Competencies

Auditing skills

Interpersonal and communication skills with experience liaising between different stakeholders.

Strong computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office, PMS and other computer systems.

Experience

3 – 4 years’ experience as a certified Officer of the Watch (OOW) or operational experience in OS-HSC CTV/craft vessels.

Experience of dealing with Flag administrations and RO’s.
