We are now looking to speak with Functional Assessors who already have experience working within WCA (Work Capability Assessment) and/or PIP (Personal Independence Payment) and who are interested in a remote or hybrid role, wherever operationally possible.


The opportunity

This role is designed for clinicians who are confident working independently and producing high-quality, evidence-based assessment reports within WCA and/or PIP services.

Depending on service need and location, the role may be:

  • Fully remote, or
  • Hybrid, combining home-based work with occasional assessment centre attendance

There are no evening or weekend shifts. The role offers structure, flexibility, and a strong focus on work–life balance, while allowing you to continue applying your clinical judgement without the pressures of hands-on treatment.


What you will be doing

  • Conducting telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments (depending on role set-up)
  • Assessing a range of physical and/or mental health conditions
  • Applying clinical reasoning to understand how health impacts daily living and functional ability
  • Producing clear, accurate assessment reports using specialist IT systems
  • Working collaboratively with clinical leads and managers to maintain consistent quality standards


About you

You will be someone who:

  • Has current or previous experience delivering WCA and/or PIP assessments
  • Is confident managing assessments and report writing independently
  • Is comfortable working remotely and using IT systems extensively
  • Takes a fair, consistent, and person-centred approach to assessment Full professional registration (NMC, HCPC, or GPhC) is required.
