Job description

At Ascenti, we help thousands of people every day to elevate their health and live active lives. With over 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors, we're proud to foster a progressive, values-led workplace where our people thrive.

About the role

We're looking for a People Coordinator to join our People Team on a secondment or 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a full-time role, based in Bristol with hybrid working available. You’ll be at the heart of our People Operations function, keeping processes running smoothly and supporting the team in delivering a high-quality experience to our people.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across Talent Acquisition, HR, and Communications to support onboarding, compliance, and employee lifecycle activity. Whether you're issuing contracts, chasing references, or responding to team queries, your attention to detail and commitment to great service will make a real difference every day.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administration skills and a passion for supporting people. You’ll be part of a collaborative, friendly team and gain valuable experience in an HR environment that’s fast-paced, varied, and people-first.

What you’ll be doing

As a People Coordinator, you’ll:

  • Support smooth and timely onboarding by processing offers, issuing contracts, and coordinating new starter checks.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure key compliance documents (e.g. ID, DBS, references) are completed to a high standard.
  • Act as a first point of contact for people queries, managing the shared inbox and providing support across a range of admin tasks.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data is processed in line with GDPR and company policy.
  • Help manage sickness, absence, and other employee data, contributing to high-quality record-keeping and reporting.
  • Support the upkeep of our internal People resources on Pulse and ensure processes are accessible and easy to follow.
  • Assist the People Operations Manager with projects that improve systems, processes, and efficiency across the team.
  • Build great working relationships across the People Team and wider business, ensuring a consistent and helpful approach in all interactions.
