Job description
Ensure all products dispatched from ISS meet customer quality requirements and are safe and legal, minimising the likelihood of rejections and ensuring ISS exceed our Quality Service Levels (QSL). Develop and engage with the QC team to work with production teams to ensure processes relating to product quality, safety and legality are followed throughout the packing process
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate with quality teams.
- Work with production to set and maintain quality standards across all products throughout the packing process
- To ensure all produce dispatched from ISS meets all customer requirements of safety, quality and legality
- To ensure all product packaging and detail meets or exceeds the customer’s and legal standards
- Communicate any relevant issues including product quality concerns to the QC team
- Support reporting manager with administrative duties including working rotas, holiday requests and investigations.
- Provide training for new members of the quality team and assess competence to perform against procedures
- Communicate to customers both verbally and via e-mail about any quality concerns in a timely manner
- To work safely and report any hazards or near misses to the relevant manager.
- Monitor and Supervise calibration of equipment used by QC
- Ensure QC team have the most recent specifications available
- To work efficiently and effectively ensuring that you contribute to the daily Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) of the department as set by the Department Manager and the needs of the business.
- Ensure teams are achieving tasks within allocated timeframe.
- To maintain high levels of health, safety, hygiene and housekeeping (Clean as you go)
- To clearly communicate between all colleagues in your team and your Line Managers in a timely manner.

Qualifications
- Supervisory experience (preferable)
- Can do attitude
- GCSE or equivalent English and maths
- Quality control experience required
- Working within a temperature-controlled environment
- Working in a packhouse/production environment
- Knowledge of fresh produce standards
- Prophet ERP system (preferable)
- Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
- Analytical thinking Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to do repetitive work
- Be flexible, thorough and show attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions
- Be organised and methodical in your approach to work
