Job description
This is a senior role within the site leadership team responsible for overseeing all Operations on site to always ensure a world class performance and delivery of our Company Vision and Values. Lead and manage the Production, Engineering and Warehouse Teams to deliver an effective and efficient operation against the key operational imperatives of Safety, Quality, Service and Cost and People.
Build and develop a fully resilient site management team that embraces all people aspects but focuses on organizational development and achieving high levels of employee engagement. Be the key Interface for direct customer interactions from site-based teams specifically but also to liaise and be key contact for wider customer base. Acting as site duty holder.
Responsibilities
- Ensure we always operate in a safe and productive manner
- Delivering the customer orders are fulfilled on time and in full and all vehicles are unloaded, inspected and stock put away to agreed timescales.
- Lead the site management teams to deliver a safety and quality focused efficient service on a day-to-day basis, while ensuring that yield is maximised at all times;
- Ensure that the right resources are in the right place at the right time to deliver maximum efficiency within the packhouse and warehouse.
- Lead the site team in creating a Continuous Improvement culture where ‘good change’ becomes the norm and Hundred Year Fixes become a way of working.
- Manage engineering teams to ensure production performance and machine integrity is always maintained.
- Lead facilities management and drive strong relationships with our landlord and key neighbours.
- Identify, engage and drive key projects across site – capital and others to help deliver the future Vision of ISS.
- Ensure accurate information is communicated in a timely and effective manner across all areas of the business. Ensure KPI’s are tracked and shared within the team and the wider business as required.
- Plan/co-ordinate/supervise rota’s and shift patterns for all employees. Undertake performance reviews for direct reports and ensure that all PDPs for the team are undertaken and delivered within agreed timescales.
- Work closely with the Technical Team to promote a compliance and food safety culture;
- Work closely with colleagues in other departments regarding the supply of product, quality and out loading.
- Promote a culture of clean as you go delivering cleanliness site wide, utilising staff downtime to cover cleaning operations efficiently and effectively.
- Coach and develop direct reports in people management skills and activities and oversee the implementation of a training/development plan to assist in succession planning.
- Ensure all health & safety and people management issues are identified and referred or handled in line with Company policy and procedure. Ensure all issues are resolved to root cause to safeguard employees, operational areas and the business;

Qualifications
- Full driving License
- Minimum 5-10 years experience in industry
- Operational and Manufacturing Management experience in a fast moving customer focused business such as Produce, FMCG, Manufacturing or Food environment.
- A track record of implementing and delivering against a plan.
- Internal and external stakeholder communication.
- Good Knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices and applications
- Demonstrable leadership experience in a multi-disciplinary customer focused environment.
- Must demonstrate and ability to motivate, coach and develop people.
- Must be comfortable being a hands-on operator
