Job description

The IT Project Manager is responsible for managing technology projects from initiation through completion, ensuring that goals, timelines, resources, and budgets are met. The position requires strong project management skills, communication, and organisational skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and budget.
  • Lead the project team and allocate tasks to meet project milestones.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and set priorities.

Team Leadership

  • Resolve conflicts and ensure team alignment within project goals.
  • Conduct regular meetings to track progress and address issues.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project risks and adjust project plans as necessary to minimize disruptions.

Budget and Resource Management

  • Monitor project budgets and ensure that resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Approve and track spending to ensure the project remains within financial constraints.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring they are kept informed on project progress.
  • Provide regular status reports and updates to senior management.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and requirements.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned.

Technical Oversight

  • Collaborate with IT professionals to ensure that project deliverables align with technical requirements and best practices.
  • Ensure that the projects technology infrastructure and tools meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, preferably in software development, infrastructure, or enterprise-level projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Prince 2 / PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Flexibility in approach with the ability to move to each business site as needed
