Job description
To support the Technical Manager in achieving and maintaining standards on all printing and labelling matters. To ensure that labels are printed in accordance with customer specification/EEC standards.
Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for the day-to-day management of Print Room
- Full management of ISS label database and new product information systems and workflows.
- Full responsibility for the creation of label templates and accessing customer approval prior to new product starting.
- Responsible for Print Room WIP stocks and that these are topped up and current. • Assign and oversee daily tasks to ensure that printed labels meet required specification and production priorities.
- Monitor all daily print room responsibilities including Printing product labels and box ends
- Downloading details on product labels for production lines
- Checking printed labels
- Maintain and carry out the daily equipment register.
- Keep Printer heads clean all the time during your shift and ensure they are cleaned three times daily
- Issuing scales to the production lines
- Issuing line leaders’ tool box on a daily basis
- Ensure that Daily housekeeping duties are carried out
- Ensure the labels are printed as required and orders are checked with the Customer Label Specification sheet
- Ensure that all faulty packaging issued through Print Room is reported and hold procedure followed
- Ensure that all relevant KPI’s (key performance indicators) are achieved, accurately documented and maintained.
- Responsible for the recording and management of packaging wastage.
- Responsible to investigate and action all non-conformance raised against the Print Room.
- Ensure that all errors are actively investigated and resolved.
- Ensure that all practices and procedures are carried out in accordance with Company Policies and Health & Safety guidelines.
- Full responsibility of Print Room staff rota and people administration.
- Support during site audits with site standards and documentation.
- Responsible for staff training, SOP’s, file notes, briefings, investigations and root cause analysis.
- Be accountable for All Work Performed within each section, promoting excellent Company and Customer Standards ensuring work duties are completed on time.
- To support at other sites as and when required.

Qualifications
- Good IT Skills
- Working within a temperature controlled environment
- Working in a packhouse/production environment
- Knowledge of fresh produce standards
- Previous QC experience required
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Ability to do repetitive work
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work under pressure, to strict deadlines
- Be organised and methodical in your approach to work
- Ability to carry out the full range of duties on the job description including job context/working environment.
