Job description

Working as part of the Engineering Team the role will be to support the Maintenance Engineer with some preventative maintenance. The role will predominantly be a deep cleaning role, which will involve removing guards and barriers under the supervision of the shift engineer and cleaning the production machinery.

Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the cleaning schedule is adhered to, to minimise the uptime of production machinery so far is reasonably practicable.
  • To carry out preventive maintenance as directed by Shift Maintenance Engineers
  • To carry out tasks with due regard to the cleaning specifications and all legislation including Health and Safety, and personal Hygiene.
  • To ensure correct materials, equipment and methods are always used and equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Report faulty machinery/equipment immediately.
  • To use every effort to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all departments and colleagues.
  • Report all accidents and dangerous occurrences and near misses to your Manager and complete all necessary documentation e,g. accident report forms and accident prevention forms.
  • To ensure all requisite documentation is completed to the required standard as and when necessary, including post hygiene audit document sign off, titration recording.
  • To work efficiently and effectively ensuring that you all contribute to the daily Key performance indicators (KPI’s) of the department as set by the engineering, Health and Safety Manager and the needs of the business.
  • To maintain high levels of health, safety, hygiene and housekeeping to company and Audit standards at all times through the clean as you go policy.
  • To clearly communicate between all colleagues in your team and your manager in a timely manner.
  • To use any equipment in the correct and safe manner.

Qualifications

  • Good level of spoken English.
  • Good dexterity and the ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Must be self-motivated and can work unsupervised.
  • COSHH Awareness (desired).
