Job description

To manage the quality of products from arrival through to dispatch.

Responsibilities

• To effectively manage the Product Managers in a proactive manner, identifying and addressing any training and development needs

• Undertake monthly reviews of the product management team performance against accountabilities, KPI’s and complete their appraisals.

• Provide accurate instructions to operations regarding stock, quality & labelling for customer orders.

• Monitor daily stocks of required customer products.

• Provide feedback on quality to the and suppliers.

• Externa and internal communication of product quality performance and customer requirements.

• Stock management and advisory across production processes.

• Co-ordinate re-inspections with the QC team to prioritise order of use based on quality & age of fruit.

• Work with production QCs to ensure quality of product throughout the production process to ensure it meets required specification and work with the Shift Quality Managers to identify any training requirements for team members.

• Monitor quality through trials on products showing any issues or potential issues.

• Request product to be ripened as required and work with the team to ensure optimum process, availability and quality.

• Arrange customer & benchmarking samples when required.

• Investigate and advise corrective actions for non-conforming products.

• Follow up on all adverse customer quality issues in conjunction with the Technical & QC teams and take part in route cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions.

• Conduct end of season reporting and analysis for customers.

• Facilitate customer visits to site.

• Take an active role in new projects when required.

• Take an active role in internal audits, as a member of the team (if required).

Qualifications

• Demonstrable product knowledge – particularly stone fruit and kiwi

• Ability to understand and apply customer specifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Computer literate – ability to use excel and ERP systems are particularly important

• Problem solving and decision-making ability

• Knowledge and understanding of ripening processes is desirable

Shift 4 on 3 off- Wednesday to Saturday
