Job description
Ensure conformance to all legislative requirements, codes of practice, best practice and Health & Safety requirements for the safe and efficient operation of the business, including machinery, buildings and services.
Responsibilities
• Key Site Duty Holder for Health & Safety Compliance across site, responsible for delivery and development of the site SMS and continuous development of all teams through peer Operations Teams to ensure a Safety First and Always Culture designed around our core value of “Protecting people from harm”.
• To manage any contractor activity on site and be able to liaise directly with suppliers regarding maintenance and spares activity.
• Line management responsibility for direct reports. Ensure regular performance reviews are in place for them.
• Develop, communicate and implement an agreed maintenance strategy which meets the needs of the business, including full CMMS.
• Monitor and investigate opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment performance using Key Performance Indicators.
• Act as a member of the Production Leadership team contributing to the setting of the vision and strategic direction of the operation.
• Monitor equipment/machinery performance using agreed KPIs and investigate and implement solutions to enable increase in production metrics.
• Responsible for the “future-proofing” of the sites manufacturing capability, through the introduction of periodic, autonomous and professional maintenance systems, procedures and processes.
• Data co-ordination and loss analysis, to continue to identify areas for further improvement, in relation to specific key site/area objectives and targets.
• Co-ordinate maintenance and cleaning schedules.
• Procurement and stock holding of all maintenance equipment.
• Develop a close working relationship with Operators and Line Technicians and chair weekly “Maintenance Improvement Meetings”.
• To ensure the budgetary controls are managed and to take responsibility for ensuring the weekly P&L is in line with and planned to exceed budgetary expectations.
• To monitor costs against budget and pro-actively look for ways to make the maintenance spend more efficient.
• To enforce the highest standards of health and safety and hygiene, in conjunction with appropriate colleagues, to ensure that Company procedures are followed.
• Overseeing the delivery of annual performance review process for the Maintenance Team, ensuring all PDP’s and reviews are delivered within agreed timescales.
• Ensure that all people issues are dealt with efficiently and in line with company policy.
• Work closely with Operations Director and Exec to design and deliver a fit for purpose Capital Strategy to ensure a sustainable Customer focused future.

Qualifications
Essential:
• English – spoken and written.
• IT Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Line Management experience.
• Academic qualifications to support the role (mechanical/electrical/control skills).
• Experience in a high speed/volume manufacturing or production-type environment.
• Experience of PUWER assessment and management.
Desirable:
• Relevant Food/Produce industry experience.
• H&S qualification.
