Job description

This role is responsible for overseeing stock reconciliation, accuracy, and compliance across multiple sites, ensuring efficient stock control within fresh produce operations. This role involves managing stock supervisors, stock checkers, and production admin teams while maintaining alignment with food safety standards and audit requirements. Key responsibilities include investigating and resolving stock discrepancies, managing stock reporting, supporting annual stock checks, and implementing process improvements to enhance stock accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Stock Control & Reconciliation, oversee daily stock reconciliation, ensuring accurate records and minimal discrepancies.

• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, implementing corrective measures.

• Maintain effective stock-checking procedures in line with audit and food safety requirements.

• Ensure Prophet is used effectively to track stock movements, discrepancies and reconciliation.

• Work closely with warehouse, operations, and production teams to enhance stock accuracy.

• Act as the primary contact for customer stock reconciliation and discrepancy resolution.

• Provide regular stock updates and reports to customers and internal teams.

• Support annual stock checks for group customers and company year-end stock reconciliation.

• Manage and oversee stock checkers, stock supervisors, and production admin teams across multiple sites.

• Effectively manage stock supervisors by setting up clear expectations, maintaining regular communication and empowering decision making

• Monitor supervisors performance using KPI and feedback ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.

• Provide training and development opportunities for the team.

• Ensure seamless coordination between stock, warehouse, operations, and production teams.

• Provide training and guidance on best practices for stock control.

• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, audit requirements, and traceability standards.

• Oversee the archiving process for stock and production records, ensuring accessibility and audit readiness.

• Manage recall procedures and stock traceability documentation.

• Generate and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) for stock accuracy and reconciliation.

• Provide weekly stock updates for the wider business and senior management.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance stock accuracy and efficiency.

• Support the effective use of stock management systems, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in stock management, inventory control, or supply chain within fresh produce or food manufacturing.

• Strong knowledge of stock reconciliation, discrepancy resolution, and audit compliance.

• Experience managing multi-site stock control and team leadership.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Strong communication skills to interact with customers, internal teams, and external auditors.

• Ability to create and interpret KPIs, reports, and stock data.

• Proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., Prophet) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

• This role requires a proactive and detail-driven leader who can ensure stock accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while driving continuous improvements in stock control.
