Job description

Lead an effective operation across a small number of production lines within your cell, taking full accountability for employee and operational performance against targets.

Manage and develop employees and workers on your lines to ensure delivery against our Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and People Objectives.

Accountable for the successful operation and manning within the assigned production cell.

Actively seek and recommend continuous improvements, minimise downtime and maximise line performance without compromising on quality.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure your production line runs effectively and efficiently, finished product meets customer quality expectations and products are packed on time
  • Ensure machines are kept in good working order, reporting any issues to the Engineering Team
  • Ensure Quality Service Levels are maintained
  • Maintain and drive quality standards with a ‘right first time’ attitude/mentality
  • Maintain a good working relationship with quality control personnel and customers
  • Maintain and drive all compliance against GMP and Performance standards across the line
  • Audit line compliance against standards
  • Be a champion for ‘what good looks like’
  • Ensure packaging waste is minimised and accurately recorded
  • Maintain packaging traceability.
  • Ensure the production plan is adhered to both in terms of line and sequence
  • Ensure accurate recording of; WIP in, WIP out, back to stores, class 2/3 and waste
  • Responsible for ensuring works orders are completed 100% accurately
  • Ensure accurate recording of downtime and labour used
  • Ensure any additional costing information is recorded; extra sorters, extra processing etc

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a quality focused role
  • Knowledge of Top seal, Flow wrap or punnet line machinery would be preferable
  • Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
