As such we are looking for a superstar Apprentice Data Engineer to join our IT Team based in Bearsted, working 5 days per week.
Key Accountabilities:
You’ll be supported in learning and performing tasks such as:
- Data Pipeline Development - Assist in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, or Azure Data Factory
- Learn to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources (APIs, databases, flat files)
- Data Infrastructure & Storage - Support the setup and optimization of data warehouses and lakes (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure Synapse)
- Help manage cloud-based infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Data Quality & Governance - Monitor data quality and integrity across systems
- Learn best practices in data governance, lineage, and documentation
- Collaboration & Communication - Work with Data Analysts, Scientists, and Business Stakeholders to understand data requirements
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives
- Learning & Development - Complete coursework and assessments as part of your apprenticeship program
- Attend internal training sessions and workshop
- Stay up to date with emerging data technologies and trends

Personal Specification and Skills:
- Strong interest in data, analytics, and technology
- Basic understanding of programming (Python, SQL, or similar)
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English; A-levels or Level 3 qualifications in STEM subjects are a plus
