Our Group Responsible Sourcing team are looking for an Ethical Trade and Human Rights manager to identify, mitigate, and manage human rights risks and embolden multi-agency collective action to enhance fairness, dignity, and lasting positive social impact for all people within our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to promote and uphold ethical trade and human rights policies, standards and requirements.
- Promote a culture of trust, transparency, and continuous improvement in human rights due diligence (HRDD) practices with customers and suppliers.
- Monitor compliance and report on progress against KPIs, audit results, and impact metrics.
- Analyse audit non-conformance trends and support suppliers to implement corrective action plans that address root causes.
- Liaise with certification bodies to review audit findings, resolve reoccurring issues, and align standards.
- Conduct global supply chain risk assessments, HRDD reviews, and accommodation visits to prevent human rights risks.
- Develop and oversee corrective action plans, supplier engagement, and capacity building initiatives.
- Investigate serious issues/incidents, gather evidence, and coordinate improvement plans with stakeholders.
- Design and deliver projects and initiatives that improve health and safety, working conditions and drive positive social impact.
- Assess the effectiveness of grievance mechanisms, remediation efforts, and responses to serious allegations.
- Carry out horizon scanning and maintain a database of emerging issues and legislative changes.
- Collaborate across the Group to implement our shared ethical trade and human rights strategy.
- Stay up to date with legislative and regulatory developments in ethical trade and human rights (e.g., UK Modern Slavery Act, ETI Base Code, UN Guiding Principles) and communicate across the Group.
Key skills and experience
- Conversant with international Human Rights standards and legislation including ETI base code, ILO Conventions, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
- Analytical with the ability to complete root cause analysis and proven experience delivering sustainable improvement plans.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Power BI to manage large datasets.
- Competent Sedex platform user.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with stakeholders across all levels and disciplines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Strong work ethic, deadline-focused.
