About you

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience as a Community Housing Officer or in a similar housing management role, who are looking to bring their skills and expertise to a values-driven organisation like Connect.

You may already be working as a Housing Officer and looking for your next opportunity, or have relevant experience within housing management, tenancy support, or community-based roles. If you are passionate about delivering excellent housing services and making a real difference to people’s lives, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Proven experience in a Community Housing Officer or similar role within housing
  • A proactive, customer-focused attitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in using IT systems and the ability to quickly learn new systems

About the role

No two days are the same in this role, and you’ll enjoy a varied and rewarding workload. Typical activities might include:

  • Visiting a resident to discuss a change to their tenancy, such as a new partner moving in.
  • Meeting with the Estates Team to address issues with communal areas affecting residents.
  • Supporting families and resolving neighbourhood concerns raised by residents.

We’re also continually evolving the role, with opportunities to be involved in rewarding moments such as welcoming new residents and handing over keys to their new homes.

A basic DBS check will be carried out on the successful candidate, and we will require two professional references.

This is a hybrid working role. A typical week might include two days in the office, with flexibility to plan your home working, visits, and appointments. You will manage your own diary and have responsibility for your own patch.
