Lettings & Neighbourhoods Assistant

Location: Central Dewsbury

Salary: £25,509 per annum + Benefits

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 per week

At Connect Housing, we believe in putting people first. We’re a values-led housing association committed to creating happy, healthy lives through good homes and strong communities. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Lettings & Neighbourhoods Assistant to join our team and help us make a real difference.

About the Role

You’ll be the first point of contact for customers accessing our Lettings service, providing respectful, efficient, and responsive support. From marketing properties and shortlisting applicants to preparing sign-up packs and updating tenancy records, your work will help people find safe, secure homes. You will also have a chance to get involved with what our Community Housing Officers do, assisting where necessary in order to deliver great customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling all administrative duties related to lettings activities and assisting the Community Housing Officers to ensure smooth processes.
  • Triaging enquiries for Right to Buy, Right to Acquire, resale, and staircasing.
  • Preparing information for the marketing of properties via local authority platforms and other channels.
  • Completing shortlisting and referencing checks in line with policy.
  • Preparing sign-up packs and updating tenancy data for rent processing.

A Great Career Starting Point

This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to start or grow a career in the housing sector. You’ll gain hands-on experience in lettings, leasehold services, and customer engagement, all while working in a supportive environment that values learning and development. If you’re passionate about making a difference and want to build a meaningful career, this role is a fantastic place to begin.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who:

  • Has experience in administration or customer service.
  • Is confident using MS Office and web-based platforms.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally.
  • Pays close attention to detail and handles sensitive data responsibly.
  • Understands what excellent customer service looks and feels like.
  • Experience in housing or lettings is desirable but not essential.

We’re just as interested in your enthusiasm and drive as your experience so if you’ve got the get-up-and-go, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for housing and helping people, we’d love to hear from you.
