Contract Type: Part-time, Permanent

Hours: Flexible, including evenings and weekends on a rota based system

At Connect, we believe everyone deserves a safe, stable home and the opportunity to thrive. Our Accommodation Services team provides tailored support to individuals facing housing challenges, helping them develop essential life skills, achieve greater independence, and build positive futures.

We are looking for a Housing Support Coach who is passionate about making a difference — someone who can empower our service users to gain confidence, learn practical skills, and sustain their tenancies.

About the Role

As a Housing Support Coach, you’ll work directly with residents to provide both practical and emotional support, helping them develop life skills such as cooking, budgeting, and managing a home. You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where people can progress toward independent living.

You’ll also liaise closely with other agencies, monitor risks, and ensure all work complies with safeguarding, confidentiality, and housing legislation.

This role involves flexible working, including some evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of our service users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical and group-based training (e.g., cooking, budgeting, tenancy skills).
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to residents, promoting independence and wellbeing.
  • Manage risk effectively, responding appropriately to challenging situations.
  • Liaise with external partners, agencies, and community organisations.
  • Support residents to understand and manage tenancy/licence agreements, rent payments, and property maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of work.

We’re looking for someone who is approachable, self-aware, and resilient — someone who brings energy and empathy to their work every day.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Experience delivering practical training and facilitating group sessions.
  • Experience managing situations involving a level of risk.
  • Experience working within policy and legislative frameworks.
  • Experience of teamwork and partnership working with other agencies.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals in supported housing.
  • Strong communication skills — verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage your own workload, work independently, and remain calm under pressure.

We understand that one person cannot always meet every area of a job description so if you are interested and feel you may be suitable, please do get in touch or apply. Please see the attached combined Job Description and Person Specification for more details.

An Enhanced DBS check will be carried out on the successful candidates and we will need to see two professional references. Please get in touch if you have any questions about this.
