What is the opportunity?:

As Associate Product Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in providing legal support for Omnissa's product development and lifecycle management. You will ensure compliance, mitigate legal risks, and contribute to building innovative products that align with legal and regulatory requirements.

Here is a breakdown:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate product-related agreements, including IP and software license agreements, technology partnership agreements, data processing agreements, service descriptions, and support terms.
  • Review external communications about Omnissa's products and services to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks. Provide legal guidance and support throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial development to launch and end-of-life.
  • Assess product features, functionalities, and designs to identify potential legal issues and ensure compliance with privacy, intellectual property, open-source licensing requirements and contractual commitments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and design, to proactively address legal issues.
  • Implement and refine privacy and open-source compliance policies and procedures, conduct compliance reviews, and provide training to internal teams.
  • Support the management and growth of Omnissa's IP portfolio, including reviewing invention disclosures, leading invention harvesting sessions, and supporting subpoena responses and other IP litigation efforts.
  • Assist with other legal project and initiatives as needed.

What will you bring to Omnissa?

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law.
  • 2-4 years of experience as an attorney with a focus on intellectual property, product counseling, privacy, and open-source compliance, preferably with software companies or in a related technology-driven industry.
  • Privacy certification (preferred).
  • Experience managing IP portfolios and advising on IP strategy, risk management, and compliance (preferred).
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information.

The typical base salary range for this role across the U.S. is USD $104,000 - $177,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for benefits and additional compensation, such as commission, bonuses, and equity.
