What is the opportunity?

As Senior Associate EMEA Employment Counsel, you will help Omnissa navigate the complexities of the employment legal landscape in EMEA, while maintaining focus on achieving strategic business goals that drive our collective success. You should have extensive experience and knowledge in EMEA employment law, preferably with experience in multiple jurisdictions and/or cross-border matters. You will not only serve as a trusted advisor to EMEA business leadership, HR, and other cross-functional stakeholders, but you also will play a critical role in shaping the company’s employment legal framework and future. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to think creatively, prioritize competing deliverables, and provide actionable, solutions-driven guidance in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Advising and supporting EMEA HR professionals and business leaders on European employment law matters, including works council negotiations, employee representative elections, information and consultations, performance management, workplace investigations, discipline, redundancies, wage reporting, time tracking, leaves, employment agreements, accommodations, cross-border mobility, benefits, pensions, and more.

• Reviewing and updating EMEA HR policies, guidelines, rules, works agreements, processes, templates, and training materials, in alignment with business priorities and regulatory requirements.

• Providing EMEA employment law guidance related to due diligence and integration, while focusing on operational continuity.

• Staying up to date on new and developing EMEA employment laws and regulations and partnering with HR and other relevant stakeholders to develop compliance strategies.

• Developing and delivering training for cross-functional partners on EMEA employment law and litigation-related best practices and risk mitigation.

• Overseeing employment-related disputes, claims and litigation, while working closely with external counsel as needed, with an emphasis on cost-effective and pragmatic strategies.

What will you bring to Omnissa?

• International and litigation expertise: proven experience managing employment law matters and legal claims across multiple jurisdictions in EMEA.

• At least 4 years of specialist employment law, post qualification experience at a law firm or in-house legal department, with a minimum of 2 years in-house. Tech industry or software company experience is a plus.

• Familiarity with German and French employment law, including advising on works council matters, with a willingness to develop knowledge in new jurisdictions.

Bonus points if you have:

• Prior experience with newly divested or private equity backed companies.

• An M&A or tech company track record.

• Expertise in EMEA employment data privacy laws.

• French, German, Spanish, or Italian language skills.

Type: REMOTE OR HYBRID (location dependent)

Travel Expectations: 5%

Education: Law degree (J.D.) from an accredited university; fully qualified to practice law in at least one EMEA jurisdiction.
