We're looking for a Buyer to join our Supply Chain team, helping to source materials, manage supplier relationships and ensure our production teams have everything they need to deliver for customers across Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport and Clean Energy.

About the Role

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring raw materials, components and subcontract services are sourced, ordered and delivered to support our manufacturing operations.

Working closely with Production, Planning, Engineering and Finance, you'll manage supplier performance, execute MRP requirements and help maintain an efficient, resilient supply chain that supports operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Buyer, you'll:

  • Source materials, components and subcontract services from approved suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial terms to achieve the best value for the business.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders across direct and indirect spend categories.
  • Execute daily MRP activities and ensure material availability supports production schedules.
  • Monitor supplier performance and expedite deliveries where required.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data within SAP or our ERP system, including pricing, lead times and supplier information.
  • Resolve supplier queries and invoice discrepancies, working closely with Finance and Warehouse teams.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support supplier performance improvement initiatives and Approved Supplier List (ASL) management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance purchasing efficiency and supply chain performance.

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Coordinator, Material Coordinator or in a similar procurement role.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of MRP planning principles and ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Strong supplier relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret purchasing data and reports.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • A CIPS qualification (or are working towards one).
  • A degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting supplier performance improvement or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
