About the Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll lead New Product Introduction programmes from concept through to production, coordinating activities across Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial teams.

Working within our APQP and NPI framework, you'll be responsible for programme planning, stakeholder management, risk mitigation and ensuring products are successfully industrialised and launched on time, to budget and to the highest quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Lead NPI Engineer, you'll:

  • Lead New Product Introduction programmes from concept through to production release.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
  • Develop and manage programme plans, project schedules and milestone trackers.
  • Drive successful progression through APQP and stage-gate processes.
  • Coordinate industrialisation activities, prototype builds and production readiness reviews.
  • Manage programme risks, actions and issue resolution to ensure successful product launches.
  • Act as the key interface between customers and internal stakeholders throughout the programme lifecycle.
  • Support quality planning activities including PFMEAs, Control Plans and validation planning.
  • Champion continuous improvement, helping to enhance NPI processes, governance and programme delivery.
  • Build strong working relationships across Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations and Commercial teams.

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have:

  • Significant experience leading engineering, manufacturing or New Product Introduction programmes.
  • A strong understanding of APQP, NPI methodologies and product industrialisation.
  • Experience managing cross-functional project teams within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent programme planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing programme risks, actions and project delivery.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • An engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent) or significant relevant experience.

Experience within Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport, Automotive or another advanced manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.

Knowledge of Siemens NX, Teamcenter PLM, ERP systems and quality planning tools such as PFMEAs and Control Plans would also be beneficial.
