We're looking for an experienced Skilled Composite Manufacturing Technician to join our Moulded Composites Department, where you'll manufacture complex composite components that meet exacting quality and performance standards.

About the Role

Working as part of our Moulded Composites team, you'll independently manufacture complex composite components from engineering drawings, ply books and manufacturing specifications.

You'll be involved throughout the manufacturing process, using your technical expertise to ensure every component is produced safely, efficiently and Right First Time. You'll also support less experienced colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement across the department.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Skilled Composite Manufacturing Technician, you'll:

• Manufacture high-quality moulded composite components to demanding engineering specifications.
• Carry out a range of composite manufacturing processes including material preparation, laminating, vacuum bagging, curing preparation, de-moulding, trimming, bonding, finishing, assembly and inspection.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, ply books and manufacturing instructions.
• Select the correct materials, consumables and tooling to achieve the required quality and performance.
• Carry out in-process inspections and ensure full product traceability. Identify and resolve routine manufacturing issues while escalating more complex technical challenges when required.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement activities.
• Share your knowledge and help develop less experienced members of the team.
• Maintain the highest standards of quality, safety and housekeeping at all times.

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience within a composites manufacturing environment.
• Experience manufacturing complex composite components from engineering drawings and ply books.
• A strong understanding of moulded composite manufacturing processes and techniques.
• Experience of vacuum bagging, trimming, bonding, finishing and assembly. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing Right First Time quality.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Experience within Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport or another high-performance manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous. A relevant engineering, manufacturing or composites qualification, or apprenticeship, would also be beneficial.
