Current Opportunity: Senior Quality Engineer– Quality & Assurance

Location: 

Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).

Role description:

• Apply BBV Golden Rules and be proactive in term of Health and Safety when visiting site or at the office.

• Support the implementation of the Quality Assurance & Quality Control Processes in the sublot.

• Monitor compliance with the IPTAN Way (BBV Integrated Management System) via internal audits and surveillances.

• Participate in the scoring of bidders during the procurement process. • Engage with subcontractors at early stage to review their Quality Plans and provide training and assistance with BBV Quality tools and processes.

• Perform external audits of the Supply Chain to review their assurance process.

• Participate in Readiness Review and Site Progress Meetings.

• Management and Review of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)

• Support the Certification Engineers in the progressive handover and assurance processes, including the review of Quality Record Packs (QRP) and Single Assurance Packs (SAP) of completed activities.

• Monitor the production of site records in the Quality Digital Tool and support the closure of records to facilitate the progressive handover and assurance processes.

• Support the Delivery Teams in the review of Material Acceptance Records (MAR) to ensure that the information provided is clear and that all supporting evidence is attached properly to facilitate Designers’ review and acceptance.

• Management and Review of Nonconformities (NCR)

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Report on Quality KPI.
  • Prepare and organise Quality Training of all new starters in the sublot.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis for NCRs and report on causes of failure.

Essential Experience:

• Experience of Major Civil Engineering projects.

• Knowledge and experience of working to UK and International Standards, and industry Codes of Practice.

• Quality subject matter expertise and proven track record in Quality Management.

• A formal qualification in Quality Management or Civil Engineering, e.g. Bachelor or Master’s Degree.

• Either a CQI Member or working towards membership.

• Competent user of modern office computer systems e.g. Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, Powerpoint.

• Good interpersonal, communication skills and attention to detail.

• CSCS Card Holder.

• Driving Licence
