Job Description

Our Nursery Assistants support children to engage in a range of play and learning opportunities and to participate in the day to day activities within the nursery.

You will have passion and enthusiasm for safeguarding children and delivering high standards of care.

  • Experience of providing play and learning opportunities for children 
  • A passion and enthusiasm for childcare 
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal.
  • Good timekeeping, organisation and reliability.

£27,000 Salary - Full-time 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

We also have 4 Day Week contracts available - 32 hours with a salary of £21,600 or 36 hours with a salary of £24,300

Qualifications

Desirable 

  • A paediatric First Aid certificate 
Competencies

Essential 

  • Ability to adhere to policies and procedures 
  • Sufficient understanding and use of English 
  • Ability to work as a team member and organise own workload 
  • Ability to be a reflective team member in order to develop your practice
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all children, staff and families
  • Ability to support an environment which is inclusive for all and encourages diversity.

Desirable 

  • Ability to plan, provide and evaluate a wide range of play and learning opportunities which meet children’s individual needs
Experience

Essential 

  • Experience of working with children aged under 5.
  • Experience of providing play and learning opportunities for children.

Desirable 

  • Experience of supporting children with additional needs.

Experience of liaising with parent’s / carers and involving them in their child’s care.
