Role Summary

Our Software Developers are an integral part of the Kyloe team. In this role, you will utilise strong full stack and UX/UI design skills to develop software applications and solutions that solve real world problems faced by our customers. The focus of our solutions should be about improving the efficiency with which a recruiter can operate to free them from manual, repetitive tasks. This saves time allowing them to be more productive.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications. 
  • Use AI-assisted tools/agents to improve development and design workflows, increasing speed and quality of delivery.
  • Own delivery outcomes for assigned tasks
  • Write testable, maintainable, and reusable code for Kyloe products and solutions to agreed deadlines.
  • Build APIs to enable new solutions and integrations.
  • Write unit, functional, and integration tests as required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, providing effective, commercial and scalable solutions.

UX Design: 

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.
  • Design intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Ensure UX designs are technically feasible and implemented effectively.

Quality & Best Practice:

  • Thoroughly test code before releasing to QA to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Assist with code reviews, promoting and improving coding standards and practices.
  • Adhere to internal policies and procedures when releasing code, creating release notes where necessary.
  • Provide accurate time estimates and deliver against them. Communicate and escalate appropriately.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute to team meetings, helping define best practice coding standards.
  • Share knowledge with colleagues, supporting team growth and capability.
  • Continuously improve products based on user feedback and data.
  • Embrace automation and new tools to drive efficiency in development processes.
  • Keep up to date with enhancements to the Bullhorn platform and other relevant technologies.

Stakeholder Support:

  • Work collaboratively across teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and keep the relevant delivery lead informed as deadlines approach.
  • May be required to participate in the relevant on-call rota (following internal training).

Knowledge required

Essential:

  • Commercial experience developing software applications with Java, Grails, Micronaut, or Spring.
  • Experience with web technologies (HTML5, CSS, AngularJS/Angular.io).
  • Experience of using AI tools to expedite development tasks such as Claude Code.
  • Experience developing web applications that consume third-party APIs.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration methodologies and platforms.
  • Ability to balance user needs, business goals and technical constraints.
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma or similar.
  • Understanding of UX/UI design principles and user-focused design.
  • Experience using Git for version control.
  • Experience with security and vulnerability testing.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Experience with AWS system architecture and deployment methods.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of recruitment business processes and recruitment technology platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of the Bullhorn APIs and extension points.
  • Familiarity with the Kyloe product suite and services projects.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Hands-on software development and UX/UI design experience.
  • Demonstrable experience through previous roles, degree, or equivalent higher education.

Desirable:

  • Related certifications (e.g. AWS, Java, or equivalent).

AI Adoption

Uses agreed AI tools and automation to improve software development processes, such as code generation, testing, or optimising performance.
