General Sales Manager

Salary: £45,000 - £75,000 per year

Basic Salary: £45,000 per year plus commission

OTE: Up to £75,000 per year

About the Role

Toomey Motor Group is seeking an experienced and driven General Sales Manager to lead our sales team and contribute to the continued success of our Omoda & Jaecoo dealership in Chelmsford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated automotive sales professional with a proven track record in leadership and performance management within the motor industry, the successful candidate must have a minimum of 2 years successful history as a General Sales Manager & previously worked in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Sales Executives to achieve and exceed goals.

• Drive vehicle sales performance and maximise profitability.

• Maintain and manage an effective customer and sales diary system.

• Liaise closely with the service department to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently.

• Organise and represent the business at off-site promotional and sales events.

• Monitor sales processes, customer satisfaction, and team performance to ensure high standards are maintained.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a General Sales Manager within the automotive industry.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

• Proven ability to deliver sales growth and achieve targets.

• Full UK driving licence.

• Candidates holding only a provisional licence cannot be considered due to company insurance requirements.

Working Hours

Candidates must be flexible and willing to work the following schedule:

• 5-day working week

• Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 6:00pm

• Saturday: 8:30am – 5:30pm

• Sunday & Bank Holidays: 10:00am – 4:00pm
