The Family team at Paris Smith are now looking to recruit a 0 to 3 year PQE Solicitor to join in and continue their success.

The Role

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a Partner dealing with all aspects of family law; including high net worth matrimonial finance and complex private law children matters. The quality of the work enjoyed by this Partner requires exceptional levels of client care, case management, organisation and initiative. We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the potential to understand not only the detail; but also, to develop their strategic skills. This is a challenging role but one which offers the chance to work with a supportive team of people who excel in their field.

Principal duties & responsibilities

• Initially to provide support to the Partner with their caseload

• Assist the Partner with drafting (including applications, forms E, questionnaires, court orders and briefs to counsel)

• Take responsibility for managing own time and work, including prioritising and being proactive where appropriate

• Keep up to date with changes in the law

• Strong communication skills with team members

• Recognition and commitment to the importance of meeting time and financial targets

• Work and behave in a professional manner and to the highest of standards of the profession

• Comply with procedures set out in the office manual, professional standards and with any requirement set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have specialised post qualification in family law with experience that will include advising clients on matters relating to: -

• Divorce/dissolution and separation

• the sharing of high value or complex financial resources following divorce or separation

• cohabitation

• children (private law)

Accordingly, the ideal candidate must possess the following attributes: -

• strong technical ability;

• exceptional client care skills;

• Good IT skills

• the ability to communicate complex law, scenarios and solutions in simple and clear way verbally and in writing;

• be organised and a good time manager;

• the ability to consider outcome rather than just process;

• good team player;

• a commercial mindset.
