Solicitor (0 - 3 years PQE ) - Corporate/Commercial Disputes

We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing Dispute Resolution department. Recognised for skills in managing high profile complex litigation, our specialist corporate/commercial litigation team provides litigation expertise for companies, directors, shareholders and entrepreneurs. We deal with a wide spectrum of commercial disputes ranging from high value debt recovery through to urgent asset recovery. On the corporate side we deal with claims against directors, shareholder disputes, and warranty claims arising out of Share Purchase Agreements.

The Role

The role consists of day-to-day conduct of files and supporting others in the Dispute Resolution department in matters with a wide and varied subject matter for local and regional businesses and various national household brands. This work will also involve some Corporate Recovery and Insolvency work.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The role will have a large emphasis on corporate and commercial litigation, working closely with Partners Helen Brown, the Head of Dispute Resolution, and Chris Holliss, Head of Commercial Disputes. Experience of some, although not all, of the following types of work is required. Training and support will be offered as required.

• Debt recovery;

• County Court claims in Fast, Intermediate and Multi-track;

• High Court claims in the Business and Property Court;

• Injunctions;

• Mediation;

• Insolvency processes.

The Candidate

It is essential that you have or are developing the following skills:

• Excellent IT skills;

• Great at prioritising important deadlines and managing time efficiently;

• Friendly, polite and confident personality;

• Familiar with undertaking Legal Research;

• Good spoken and written communication skills.
