Senior Associate/Salaried Partner

The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and conscientious Lawyer with a specialisation in Construction to join the Firm’s highly regarded Property Department. Dependent on experience, this role will be at Senior Associate or Salaried Partner level.
The role will involve acting for a variety of clients including developers, investors, lenders, landlords and tenants, for residential, commercial, mixed use and industrial sites.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
• Drafting reviewing and negotiating all forms of construction documentation (including building contracts, professional appointments, bonds, guarantees, collateral warranties);
• Advising on the construction aspects of development and funding agreements; and
• Producing construction reports for lenders for commercial property purchases, commercial, mixed residential developments, and industrial developments.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have 10+ years PQE in contentious construction matters, as well as transactional construction. The post holder will be required to liaise and work closely with colleagues within the Property and Planning Department, as well as our Property Dispute, and Corporate and Banking teams on a regular basis.
Prompt attention to transactions coupled with a constructive, commercial and proactive approach is essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for running their own transactions and must possess the following attributes:

• Sound technical knowledge – including the ability to review and analyse facility letters, title documents, planning documents (including statutory agreements), rack rent and long leases, and transactional documents;
• Attention to detail – including the ability to swiftly identify any issues that may present a barrier to the progress of the transaction;
• Commerciality – including the ability to identify and articulate a commercial, proportionate and appropriate solution to issues identified during the course of a transaction;
• A high standard of financial hygiene – including the ability to ensure that appropriate work is priced at the correct level, that any changes to cost are communicated at an appropriate stage and maximum recovery is achieved;
• Teamwork and mentoring – including the ability to work effectively with other team members contributing to the progress of the transaction, and encourage and mentor junior solicitors;
• A high degree of responsibility – including the ability to review and approve work from junior solicitors and to take on a key role in maintaining and developing relationships with existing clients;
• Business Development – ability and enthusiasm to be part of the continued development of the practice which will include building rapport with colleagues across the Firm, identifying cross selling opportunities, as well as identifying potential new opportunities.
