Twin Training International's University Placements team works with multiple UK University partners to help MSc students secure industrial placements as part of their programmes. The placements are substantive year-long roles in industry paid jobs, it is our job to find them, negotiate with them, and make them happen.

We are hiring a Sector Account Manager to own the employer side of that process. This is a commercial role with a clear metric that is placements confirmed. You will build a pipeline of employer relationships within your sector portfolio, make the case for taking an MSc placement students, negotiate the terms, and close. Commission is paid on each successful conversion.

If you have prior experience in recruitment, B2B sales, or account management and you are looking for a new role where the work has genuine social purpose alongside commercial drive, this opportunity could be for you!

What you will do

• Researching and mapping target employers within your sector portfolio — identifying the right organisations, the right contacts, and the right timing for outreach

• Build a live pipeline of employer prospects from cold contact through to confirmed placement, managing each opportunity through a structured process

• Making the commercial case to employers for hosting an MSc student, tailoring your pitch to each organisation's context, handling objections, and negotiating placement terms

• Managing a portfolio of active employer accounts with consistent professional contact, building trust that turns a one-off placement into a recurring annual arrangement

• Working with our student engagement team to match students to employer opportunities with genuine fit, and briefing students on specific roles and employers

• Leading sector-specific mock interview sessions, bringing direct market knowledge of how employers in your sectors assess candidates

• Owning employer events and careers fairs for your sector portfolio, securing participation, coordinating with university partners, and making the most of each employer interaction

What we are looking for

• A background in sales, business development, account management, or recruitment, with a clear track record of building relationships from cold and converting them into results

• Experienced in managing a prospect pipeline and working to conversion targets

• Strong negotiating skills: you understand what the other side needs, find room for movement, and close without burning the relationship

• A structured approach to market research, you identify and qualify targets systematically, not indiscriminately

• Working knowledge of one or more of our target sectors: engineering, technology, finance, or adjacent fields such as business management

• A problem-solving mindset: when the obvious approach is not working, you find a different angle rather than repeating the same outreach

• Professional resilience: you treat a lack of response as information, not rejection, and you keep going with the same quality and consistency

• Clear, confident written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels — including senior and executive contacts

• Self-directed and accountable: you manage your own pipeline, set your own priorities, and own your results

What will set you apart

• Experience in a placement, graduate recruitment, or university-linked commercial role

• Direct experience working within or alongside one or more of our target sectors

• Experience placing or working with international candidates and a working knowledge of UK right-to-work and visa considerations

• A track record of growing the value of accounts over time, not just opening doors, but building commercial relationships that compound
