Advanced Manufacturing (Sheffield) Limited (AML) is an advanced machining supplier focused on aerofoil and rotative components. We are at the leading edge of machining technologies and are dedicated to delivering efficiency and reduced cycle times for our clients in the aerospace sector. Our advanced milling, turning and 5-axis capacity enables us to machine a wide range of products including bespoke ring, casing, gearbox, aerofoil and aerostructure components. To-Date, we have manufactured components for Rolls-Royce, Boeing, Siemens, Bombardier and are looking to expand out Machining capabilities over the coming year.

The Position

• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.

• Evaluate materials, labour, machining operations, subcontractors and equipment costs.

• Develop and issue competitive quotations aligned with business objectives.

• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure commercial accuracy and technical feasibility.

• Monitor and review estimates to improve cost accuracy and identify savings.

• Support onboarding of new projects and ensure commercial terms are aligned with customer requirements.

• Liaise with internal departments to align project execution with commercial expectations.

• Track project profitability and escalate potential risks or deviations to senior management.

• Assist in contract reviews and ensure scope, terms and pricing are clearly defined.

• Act as key contact for existing clients, nurturing relationships to build trust and identify new opportunities.

• Lead commercial discussions with clients, including pricing, scope changes and delivery schedules.

• Support sales team in identifying and developing new leads within current and prospective accounts.

• Conduct regular client reviews to ensure satisfaction and drive repeat business.

• Facilitate communication between Sales, Engineering, Production and Supply Chain to meet customer and business needs.

• Assist in sourcing decisions and supplier negotiations where commercially relevant.

• Present project and commercial updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Comply with all applicable health, safety and environmental policies, procedures, legal obligations, including those relevant to CNC machining and high-reliability manufacturing.

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, reporting any hazards, incidents, near-misses or unsafe behaviours promptly and accurately.

• Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately, ensuring correct use in line with task and risk requirements. • Participate in mandatory EHS training, emergency response units, and company health and wellbeing initiatives.

• To promote effective communication between your functional area and other areas of the business.

• Maintaining high levels of personal motivation and development, advising line manager of personal training requirements to enhance achievement of job role.

The Person

• Degree or apprenticeship in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.

• Commercial or Project Management qualification (e.g. Prince 2)

• 5 + years in engineering or manufacturing environment

• Experience in project estimation and commercial evaluation.

• Exposure to client-facing or key account responsibilities.

• Experience within Aerospace and CNC machining industry.
