Advanced Manufacturing (Sheffield) Limited (AML) is an advanced machining supplier focused on aerofoil and rotative components. We are at the leading edge of machining technologies and are dedicated to delivering efficiency and reduced cycle times for our clients in the aerospace sector. Our advanced milling, turning and 5-axis capacity enables us to machine a wide range of products including bespoke ring, casing, gearbox, aerofoil and aerostructure components. To-Date, we have manufactured components for Rolls-Royce, Boeing, Siemens, Bombardier and are looking to expand out Machining capabilities over the coming year.

The Position

• Managing the day-to-day activities of the company quality department relative to any “make” activities.

• Man, management of the quality team through one-to-ones, appraisals and disciplinary processes.

• Support the Quality Assurance manager in relation to internal and external audits which effect and relate to product quality.

• Accountable for FAIRs, PPAP, FMEA’s FPD and concessions from creation to closure and the point of contact for all customers relating to product quality.

• Management of NCRs and root cause analysis utilising problem solving methodologies.

• Identify quality issues with the manufacturing process and create a plan to reduce non conformance.

• Preparation and review of KPIs. Scrap rate, Cost of quality and action plan to improve performance.

• Ensure that processes needed for the Business Management System (BMS) are established, implemented and maintained in line with industry standard and those set out by the Quality Assurance Manager

• Enforce the quality disciplines and awareness of customer requirements throughout the business.

• Performing Internal Audits

• Provide training for quality inductions.

• Keep the training matrix for quality up to date.

• Communicate quality alerts

• Promote the EHS policies when communicating with Management, workers and subcontractors.

• Provide support for the implementation of the EHS Management System.

• Ensure resources are provided for maintaining and improving the EHS Management System.

• Maintain personal accountability for overall safety performance.

• Participate in meetings of the Management Teams.

• Provide leadership and commitment to the EHS management systems.

The Person

• Highly motivated individual.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Manufacturing & Aerospace industry experience (2 years)

• Degree or equivalent in quality management, engineering or related field is desirable.

• Ability to manage own time and workload effectively.

• Leadership experience.

• Auditing experience desirable.

• Quality experience.

• Technical knowledge and understanding of CMM’s.

• Internal auditor qualification/ ISO9001 as a minimum.

• AS9100 Familiarisation course is essential.
