Mountjoy specialises in providing professional and high-quality construction, refurbishment, building maintenance and facilities management services across the south of England.

We have an exciting opportunity for a conscientious and enthusiastic Skilled Labourer to join our dynamic team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.

In this role you will carry out a wide variety of general labouring and remedial damp/mould works across occupied homes and void properties. Tasks may include surface preparation, application of anti-mould treatments, site clearance, materials handling, and support to other trade operatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Diagnose and treat damp and mould in accordance with approved techniques.
• Ensure that all work meets the highest quality and safety standards.
• Support multi-trade teams with general labouring duties as required.
• Work safely at height using appropriate equipment.
• Maintain site cleanliness and ensure proper disposal of waste.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with tenants and stakeholders.
• Minimise non-productive time and report any challenges to the Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, including photographic evidence.
• Always apply Health & Safety rules using RAMS and PPE.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Participate in the out-of-hours rota as required.
• Assist other contracts within Mountjoy Ltd as directed.
• Ensure the company vehicle is kept in a clean and serviceable condition.

SKILLS REQUIRED
• Demonstrable experience of damp and mould remediation in domestic settings.
• Confident working at height and with appropriate safety equipment.
• Strong communication skills, especially in tenant-facing situations.
• Ability to diagnose repair needs accurately and apply a right-first-time approach.
• Ability to self-manage, prioritise work and maintain productivity.
• Positive approach to teamworking, problem-solving, and Health & Safety.
• Competent with PDA/phone use for job management.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a skilled labouring or maintenance role, ideally within residential repairs or housing association environments.
• Understanding of mould prevention and treatment methods.
• Knowledge of COSHH and safe handling of chemicals.
• Awareness of safeguarding and tenant interaction protocols.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
• Full current driving licence.
• A DBS check is required before commencing of role
