Martin House provides free specialist palliative care to babies, children and young people with complex and life-shortening conditions. Families from across West, North and East Yorkshire have access to our care 24/7, 365 days a year, including specialist doctors. Every year we care for more than 550 families, at the hospice, in hospital and in families’ own homes, as well as supporting around 200 bereaved family members.
We’re looking for a dynamic Partnerships Manager to lead and grow relationships with our major corporate partners. In this role, you’ll nurture high value partnerships, create robust account plans, and set ambitious growth targets. You’ll play a key role within the Philanthropy & Partnerships team, driving sustained year on year income growth and strengthening long term, strategic partnerships.
The role will involve:
• Developing and stewarding relationships with key corporate decision makers, to maximise partnership opportunities with prospects and existing partners.
• Account manage a range corporate partnerships, developing and securing them for multi-year support.
• Actively secure sponsorship from corporate partners for Martin House events.
• Ensure all corporate partners have correct and up to date Partnership Agreements and Licence Fee Agreements.
• Forecast, track and report on the income performance of your area including the reporting of performance against agreed KPI measures.
• Support the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team Manager through contributing to special projects, working groups and strategic planning.
• Support with hosting networking and cultivation events to increase profile of Martin House to new supporters.
• Accurately record communication and account information on the database.
• Maintain awareness of other charitable partnerships, alongside new fundraising trends, tools and campaigns.
• Work closely with other income generation teams within Martin House to maximise the support of new partners and ensure organisational objectives are achieved.
• Act as an ambassador for Martin House, maintaining positive and effective communication internally and externally when representing the service offered by the hospice. There is an expectation that the post holder will need to travel to visit businesses, attend meetings and conferences etc. sometimes outside of working hours.

• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written
• Show experience working in corporate fundraising or in a marketing/sales position in a client facing role
• Develop and maintain internal and external working relationships at all levels
• Demonstrate experience of managing multiple corporate accounts in a commercial and/or charity setting and maximising income from these through proactive stewardship
• Demonstrate the ability to deliver compelling proposals, presentations and pitches to a variety of audiences
• Adopt a creative and proactive approach to all aspects of the work
• Demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative and cooperatively as part of the fundraising team
• Have the ability to set, monitor and analyse income and KPI targets and have a track record of meeting and exceeding targets
• Have knowledge of fundraising legislation and governance
• Have demonstrable knowledge of fundraising databases
• Demonstrate a positive can-do attitude
