Martin House provides free specialist palliative care to babies, children and young people with complex and life-shortening conditions. Families from across West, North and East Yorkshire have access to our care 24/7, 365 days a year, including specialist doctors. Every year we care for more than 550 families, at the hospice, in hospital and in families’ own homes, as well as supporting around 200 bereaved family members.

We have an amazing opportunity for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our dedicated Housekeeping team supporting running of the hospice.

We have two roles for 12 hours per week and one role for 16 hours per week. Hours will be worked on a three week rolling rota and include 1 weekend in 3.

The successful candidates will deliver cleaning to all hospice buildings for both care and non-care areas, ensuring CQC standards are met.

The role will involve: General housekeeping, including

• Vacuuming and mopping

• High- and low-level dusting and polishing

• Use of Rotowash, steam cleaner and/or other cleaning equipment

• Washing and ironing of bedding

• WC cleaning

• Kitchen duties such as loading and unloading dishwashers, cleaning ovens, washing pans and setting tables

• Cleaning/ making up of bedrooms and cleaning ensuite bathrooms.

Our ideal candidate will

• Have experience of working in care setting would be an advantage.

• Previous experience of providing professional cleaning services would be beneficial
