This position is offered on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover.

Martin House has been caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions from West, North and East Yorkshire for more than 30 years. Every year we care for more than 420 families at our hospice in Boston Spa, in hospitals, and in their own homes. In addition, we also support more than 150 bereaved families each year.

We are seeking a creative, ambitious and focused Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser. Working with the Trusts and Foundations Team Manager, you will help to cultivate and steward a portfolio of major Trusts and Foundations with a giving capacity of £5,000.00 or more, submitting detailed and emotive bids and impactful reports. You will play an active part in helping Income Generation to fundraise for core running costs.

You will have experience of working within the charitable sector, ideally within a Trusts and Foundations role, with a focus on larger Trust applications. The successful candidate will be positive, organised, and motivated, with the ability to manage their time and workload effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential as is the ability to write persuasively. A proven track-record of generating income and building relationships interdepartmentally and with external stakeholders is also essential to this role.   • Want to work in a well-established, award-winning hospice, working as part of the multidisciplinary team to support the children, young people and their families from the time of their referral through to end of life care.

Tasks and duties:

  •  Support the Trusts and Foundations Team Manager and the Head of Major Relationships Fundraising to steward a portfolio of major Trusts and Foundations so they continue to donate as pledged and seek new income.
  • Research and develop a pipeline of prospects for core running costs.
  • Drafting and submitting funding applications, working with colleagues to develop strong cases for support, gathering resources to meet funders criteria within required deadlines.
  • Producing and submitting emotive and impactful reports for funders within agreed timeframes.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to produce necessary communications for updates and reports.
  • Work closely with our Care Team to develop a deep understanding of our work and identify areas where funding is required.
  • Ensure funders are appropriately recognised and stewarded.
  • Maintain accurate records on our supporter database Blackbaud.
  • Support the overall Income Generation Strategy.
  • Contribute towards financial reporting as required.
  • Keep informed of key developments across grant making organisations
