Martin House has been caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions from West, North and East Yorkshire for more than 30 years. Every year we care for more than 420 families at our hospice in Boston Spa, in hospitals and in their own homes. We also support more than 150 bereaved families each year.

We have an amazing opportunity for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our dedicated multi-disciplinary team as Care Team members. We provide 1:1, holistic, family centred care, meaning this role is suitable for those who have a genuine interest in making a difference through the care they provide. The successful candidates will provide holistic care to the poorly child, including activities such as play and recreation as well as attending to the child’s physical and wellbeing needs and providing support to the wider family.

Our ideal candidate

• Experience of working in a care setting, preferably with children and young adults. (Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is preferable but education and development will be available for the right candidate.)

• Be committed to Martin House’s values – Excellence, Respect, Integrity and Compassion

• A passion for providing high quality holistic care.

• Enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

• Able to work a variety of shifts, including weekend and night shifts.

• Experience of working in a palliative care setting would be beneficial. Care team members will be required work in the community and therefore will need drive a Martin House pool car, or have access to their own vehicle for business purposes.
