Martin House has been caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions from West, North and East Yorkshire for more than 30 years. Every year we care for more than 550 families at our hospice in Boston Spa, in hospitals and in their own homes. We also support more than 200 bereaved families each year.

An exciting and hugely rewarding opportunity has arisen in the Marketing and Communications department to lead the Marketing and Communications team. It is a wide-ranging role for an experienced strategic, creative, and hands-on marketing and communications professional with a passion for creating compelling content and communications strategies. The Marketing and Communications team works closely with all departments across the charity to maximise fundraising revenue and support our strategic initiatives, all within a busy care environment. Currently we are in the middle of our appeal THE BUILD and the successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading the communications to ensure we reach key audiences to enable us to achieve our aim.

Our ideal candidate will

• Work collaboratively to deliver an impactful and high-quality marketing plan with multi-channel content, including the website and digital channels, taking an audience-led approach for both internal and external audiences.

• Expertise in designing and implementing integrated communications strategies that resonate with a diverse set of stakeholders.

• Track record of leading a high-performing and impactful team.

• Proven experience of designing and implementing successful marketing campaigns, preferably with experience with cause related activity.

• Act as a 'brand guardian' ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications.

• Strong commercial and financial awareness, with a firm focus on ROI.

• Will be able to combine elements of both operational and strategic work, so it would suit a person who’s happy to work on a news story one day, while writing a board report the next.

• Have passion for communications and innovative approaches to engaging audiences in line with changing trends and stakeholder/audience insight.

Martin House places families at the heart of all that we do and this is reflected in the amazing benefits we offer our valued team members.

• Annual Leave – 8 weeks per year including bank holidays

• Sick pay – six months full pay and six months half pay following successful completion of probationary period.

• Recognition of NHS pension scheme for candidates who are currently in the scheme and up to 10% contributory AVIVA scheme.

• Enhanced Maternity and Partners leave to exceed the NHS entitlement

• Health and wellbeing programme including access to free of change Employee Assistance Programme for employees and their families

• Accredited Menopause and Mindful employer

• Life insurance – two times annual salary
