Job Description

About the Role

This is a role for someone who knows that great campaigns don’t just inform people, they move them. Someone who can see the bigger picture, move quickly when an opportunity emerges, bring people together around a clear strategy, and turn a good idea into something impossible to ignore.

You’ll work alongside our legal and campaigns teams to spot opportunities, shape bold campaign strategies and turn complex legal and political issues into compelling stories that people can understand, care about and act on.

From developing digital campaigns that mobilise thousands of people, to leading projects that put pressure on decision-makers, you’ll help transform our work in the courts into action. We are especially looking for people with experience campaigning in: fighting the far right, actions against the police and political campaigning.

Responsibilities

Core

  • Developing the scope and strategy for Good Law Project’s legal and other campaigns, managing their delivery in line with relevant project prioritisation.
  • Implementing digital tactics that mobilise the public, fundraise and make change.
  • Drafting sharp, high quality compelling copy and content across a range of channels, for different audiences that move people into urgent calls to action.
  • Facilitating effective communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Evaluating legal and other campaigns’ impact and performance with a view to continuously improving our systems, processes and impact.

General

  • Perform Weekend Press Duties: alongside other team members on the duty rota (once every 6-8 weeks).
  • Living Our Culture & Values: Role model and actively embed GLP’s core values and culture into your day-to-day practice.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure full adherence to all organisational policies, codes of conduct, data protection protocols, and legal requirements.
  • Flexibility & Agility: Maintain a flexible approach, carrying out associated campaign duties or emerging priorities as reasonably required to advance the workstream's goals.
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: Proactively promote and embed inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunity across all workplace interactions, partnerships, and campaign activities.
  • Information Security & Confidentiality: Safeguard and treat with strict confidentiality all sensitive, personal, or legal information relating to supporters, donors, partners, staff, and litigation.
Qualifications

  2. Working at speed: Experience working in a fast-paced, reactive environment, comfortable with quick decision-making and delivery.
  3. Project management: Experience managing multi-faceted projects, ideally coordinating between different specialisms (e.g. legal, tech, and comms).
  4. Political & economic awareness: A keen understanding of the political landscape, particularly focused on party politics, the rise of the far right and civil rights.

General Skills & Abilities

  • Professional Integrity & Collaboration: commitment to high standards of professional behaviour, working with honesty, integrity, and a genuinely collaborative approach.
  • Strong creative and critical analytical skills, and an ability to grasp quickly new concepts and areas of the law with an openness to learning new ideas.
  • Autonomy & Teamwork: Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage your own workload independently, while remaining an active, supportive team player.
