Background

We are looking for a candidate to join the Commercial Team at RDC in the role of Key Account Executive. The successful candidate will be responsible for nurturing and expanding relationships with a select group of high-value customers. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact, helping clients maximise the value of RDC solutions while identifying opportunities for growth. This role is ideal for a commercially driven individual who excels at building rapport, understanding customer needs, and delivering strategic account outcomes.

Founded in 1999, the company researches and maintains a range of unique proprietary datasets covering airport user charges, government taxes, airline fleets, airline pricing and sustainability. These are available through a suite of analytical services including on-line applications, APIs, a data distribution platform and custom datasets that help customers better understand growth, risk, sustainability, performance and operating cost metrics.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage and deepen relationships with a portfolio of accounts
  • Input into and execute strategic account plans focused on retention, expansion, and long-term value creation
  • Grow account base through acquisition of new customers
  • Take ownership of account revenue targets, including renewals, upsells, and cross-sells
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution
  • Collaborate across departments to deliver on customer expectations
  • Track account performance and provide regular updates on opportunities, risks, and pipeline

Day to day activities

  • Conduct regular check-ins and status calls with key customers
  • Identify and qualify upsell or cross-sell opportunities based on usage trends or new initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues or escalate product- related concerns
  • Log activities, communications, and opportunities in the company CRM system
  • Monitor account health metrics and respond proactively to signs of risk or churn
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitors relevant to your accounts

Other Responsibilities

  • Input into annual business development plan
  • Identify and attend relevant exhibitions, trade shows and networking events
  • Adhere to all policies and practices contained within the company manual

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Essential

  • 3-5 years’ experience of account management
  • A proven record of customer retention
  • Ability to develop relationships at user, manager and decision-maker level in organisations
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record in B2B environment

Even better if

  • Experience in the air transport industry
  • Familiarity with RDC products and services
  • Experience in B2B SaaS sales
  • Proficient with MS Office tools and video meeting tools such as Zoom, Teams and Google Meets
  • Ability and desire to travel
  • Additional language skills
  • Familiarity with Salesforce
