We are looking for customer focused individuals to join the team as Trainee Bus Drivers at our Kidderminster depot.

We are committed to providing trainees with our high quality comprehensive 2-3 week residential training programme to obtain your PCV licence. This is delivered at our dedicated training school in Bolton, Greater Manchester where a residential pay rate will apply whilst training and accommodation will be provided.

The process for gaining your PCV licence is quite simple, once your training is successfully completed, you will become a full-time Bus Driver within the company based at one of our Midlands depots, operating services across the West Midlands, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. Our extensive training and development offerings include:

Full PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) training worth over £4,000 providing you with a qualification for life Support and guidance whilst passing all modules of the PCV licence acquisition CPC training and continuous training to ensure you keep your hard-earned qualifications Extensive route learning and vehicle familiarisation before you go out in service for the first time Company specific training such as ticket machines, processes, systems, defensive driving techniques, customer care, policies, and procedures and much more.

Trainee responsibilities

• To attend the Rotala Training Academy and be engaged with the training process
• To arrive on time for training
• • To be engaged with the training process
• To revise for module tests (Module 1A Theory, Module 1B Hazard, Module 2 CPC and Module 4 CPC
• Reverse test Module 3A
• Final driving test – Module 3B.

PCV Driver responsibilities

• To complete first user checks in accordance with company procedures to ensure that the vehicle is road compliant before departure
• To transport customs in a safe, controlled manner
• To take fares and ensure that the company money is secure and paid in daily, also to ensure that all monies taken are reconciled to the amount taken on the day
• Complete bus route on schedule while stopping at all stops
• To drive safely and keep to the traffic commissioners punctuality and reliability standards
• To give excellent customer service
• To be polite with all passengers
• • To comply with all Company policies and procedures
  

• To be considered for the trainee driver programme applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• Hold a valid car driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• You will need to have already applied for and received your provisional category D licence from the DVLA.
• A good understanding of English language and the ability to communicate with passengers is a must.
• You will be the face of our business – playing an incredibly important role each and every day, safely and comfortably transporting our fantastic customers across the region.
