Cleaver Fulton Rankin are recruiting for Law Degree Apprentice in partnership with Ulster University to join our Private Client team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience while working towards a legal qualification, supporting the team in delivering high quality legal services to individuals and families. You will gain exposure to a broad range of private client matters while developing your technical knowledge and professional skills.
The Law Degree Apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to combine practical work experience with academic study, enabling you to develop your legal career while earning a salary.
• You will work four days per week in our Belfast office, gaining hands on experience alongside solicitors across a range of practice areas.
• You will attend Ulster University one day per week, studying towards a fully funded LLB (Hons) Law degree.
• You will receive a full time salary, including your day spent at university.
• Upon completion, you will graduate with a law degree and four years’ valuable experience within a solicitor’s practice.
Some areas you will get involved in:
Assist with a range of private client matters including:
• Estate and tax planning
• Probate and estate administration
• Powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters
• Trusts and tax planning
Support the drafting and reviewing of legal documents under supervision, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Assist with file management and case preparation, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
Communicate with clients in a professional and approachable manner, supporting the delivery of excellent client service.
Liaise with third parties such as financial advisers, accountants, and other professionals when required.
Undertake legal research and assist in keeping the team up to date with relevant legal developments.
Provide general administrative support to the team as needed.
Contribute to and support team initiatives, including business development and marketing activities where appropriate.
Requirements
A strong interest in pursuing a career in law, particularly with a view to advising individuals and their families. You should also meet the academic requirements for the programme (typically AAB at A-Level or equivalent — please check Ulster University’s website for details). No previous legal experience is needed. We are seeking individuals who are eager to learn and have a passion for law.
