Job description

The purpose of the role is to support the Health and Safety team with the running of an efficient, compliant, and proactive H&S function for an ambitious, rapidly growing, multi-cultural company. While reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the H&S Coordinator will work closely with the H&S Advisor on day-to-day matters.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development of risk assessments, compliance visits, and incident investigations.
  • Support Health & Safety and Operations teams with day-to-day operational activities.
  • Maintain and coordinate the management of Health and Safety documentation, ensuring records and revision cycles are accurate and up to date across all sites.
  • Identify shortcomings in policies, procedures, and systems, and support legal compliance by helping to implement remedial actions to address issues.
  • Champion the Safety Spot and Safety Sorted processes.
  • Support Health and Safety training initiatives by helping to identify needs and delivering training solutions as required, for example manual handling and safety briefings.
  • Produce reports to ensure employees are informed about current status, key issues, risks, and improvements.
  • Take responsibility for completing identified improvement activities.
  • Proactively engage with Health and Safety improvements and projects to support continual development across all sites.
  • Regularly attend site safety walks and report safety spots.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint/Excel/Word.
  • IOSH Managing Safely Certificate (Desirable).
  • NEBOSH General Certificate would be an advantage.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car (essential for multi-site work).
  • Experience of H&S coordinator/advisor role would be an advantage.
