Conveyancer – Residential Conveyancing Department
Location: 1 Ecclesall Road South, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S11 9PA
Contract: Full time
Experience: 1 to 3 years post qualifying experience
We are looking for an experienced and client focused Conveyancer to join our Residential Conveyancing team. In this role, you will take full responsibility for your own caseload of residential conveyancing matters, progressing them from instruction through to completion.

The role:
As a Conveyancer, you will manage all aspects of residential property transactions with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations while maintain strong communication with clients and third parties.
Key Responsibilities:
Client and third party communication:
- Handle routine conveyancing enquiries via phone, email and face to face meetings
- Liaise with other solicitors, estate agents, mortgage lenders, IFAs, landlords, management companies and other third parties to ensure progress and resolve any issues
Purchase transactions:
- Check Title
- Report to client
- Raise Enquiries
- Prepare SDLT return
- Prepare Transfer and Deed of Requisitions
- Apply for searches
- Draft statutory declarations, deeds of variation, rectification, easements etc as required
- Check replies to Enquiries and raise further enquiries if necessary
- Deal with any refers and issues in respect of proof of funding, mortgage offers and searches
Sale transactions:
- Check legal title and prepare contract in relation to first registration or a complex title
- Epitome of Title
- Index Map Search
- Land Charges Search
- Check contracts for Legal Assistant
- Deal with enquiries if necessary and amend contract
- Sign requisitions and review documentation
- Check and sign off the fil matter at relevant stages throughout the transaction
Other:
- Act in other Conveyancing matters such as re-mortgages, assents, transfer of equity, matrimonial sales and deceased estates
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience of running a full conveyancing caseload independently
- In-depth knowledge of residential property law and conveyancing procedures
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Confident using legal case management systems and Microsoft Office
